Q. How do I sell my device?
A. It’s an easy process – just review our price list & find your device, complete, print and sign a copy of our Claim Form, and pack your item and a copy of the Claim Form in a small box or padded envelope. Print and tape a copy of our Free Shipping Label to the envelope and send it from your local Canada Post outlet.
Q. What types of devices can I sell?
A. We buy all brands of cell phones, smartphones, tablet and netbook computers. The prices we offer are based on how much we can resell them for and we publish a monthly price list you can use to find your device’s value.
Q. Does my device need to be working for you to pay me full price for it?
A. Yes. When we receive your device, the battery in it must be able to hold a charge and the device must power up after a charge. Cell phones and smartphones must be able to make a call and the display screen(s) must be free from damage. In addition to holding a charge and powering up after a charge, tablet and netbook computers must also be able to connect to a wireless network and have working display screen(s). If your device does not meet our minimum criteria we won’t be able to pay you for it but we will recycle it for you free of charge. If you’re selling more than 10 (ten) devices to us at a time, we’ll offer you scrap pricing for each device that doesn’t work.
Q. I have a bunch of old cell phones including “bag phones” – will you buy those too?
A. Yes! We also purchase scrap cell phones and scrap cell phone components – including “bricks” and bag phones from the 1980′s. Scrap pricing is volatile “by the pound” and we require a minimum shipment size of 25lbs per box (maximum 66 lbs per box as per Canada Post restrictions) to qualify for scrap payment and free shipping within Canada. Check out our Scrap Purchasing page.
Q. Why would I sell my device to you and not sell it myself?
A. Selling old cell phones requires time, patience, and practice. Auction sites cost you money even if your item doesn’t sell. Classified ads in the local newspaper or online require work and sometimes sketchy people come to your home to buy items. Our service is painless and you’ll get paid what we’ve advertised!
Q. When do I have to send you my device(s)?
A. You can send your wireless device at any time, but our prices change monthly according to resale demand and commodity prices so the sooner you send your item, the higher the price we can offer. If your device meets our minimum criteria we will pay you the advertised price for the same month in which your device is received.
Q. Can I send in more than one device?
A. Yes. You can send in as many devices as you like, but we can only offer cash for the models we’ve advertised on our purchase list. If you send a minimum of ten (10) devices you qualify for higher prices and payment for a wider range of devices since you’re helping us save on postage.
Q. Can I raise money for my business, group, school, sports team or wedding by recycling wireless devices?
A. Yes. We are happy to purchase wireless devices from you to support whatever your objectives may be whether they are for a company, non-profit, or your own personal goals.
Q. Do I need to send in the accessories that came with my old wireless device?
A. You don’t have to but if you do we will pay you an additional $1 per working home charger (AC Adapter or wall plug) included with any device on our purchase list. We do not offer payment for other accessories such as cases, car chargers, ear pieces or manuals.
Q. What happens to my device?
A. First, we test your device and ensures that it can be reused here in Canada or around the world. If it doesn’t work or can’t be reused, we will salvage its parts to fix other devices. If your device is beyond economical repair and not reusable, we will responsibly recycle your device in accordance with The Basel Convention on the Trans-boundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal – that means we don’t dump e-waste on developing nations.
Q. What if my device isn’t on your purchase list?
A. You can Contact Us and ask us to evaluate the price of your item. We will let you know if we can offer you payment for it or if we would recycle it for you.
Q. Where can I find my device’s model number?
A. You can usually find the model number for cell phones under the battery on the back of them. For tablet and netbook computers you can usually identify it by the manufacturer’s label on the bottom or back.
Q. What about data on my device?
A. It is our practice to remove data from functioning devices but for your peace of mind we encourage you to do so yourself. To make it easy for us to remove your data, please ensure that you remove or reset any lock code on your device and/or write the password down for us so that we can work with it. If you have questions about how to erase your device we encourage you to visit the manufacturers website or contact your wireless service provider for assistance.
Q. When will I get my money?
A. We issue payment 30 days after your shipment is received. Please allow time for Canada Post to deliver your cheque.
Q. Why does it take so long for you to pay me for my shipment?
A. There are a few reasons we delay payment for shipments we receive but primarily it is because we test each device individually to determine if it can be reused and we receive several thousand devices each month. We also need to ensure that each device is not reported as lost or stolen and the global databases that contain this information can take up to fifteen (15) days to report a lost or stolen device.
Q. What if my device gets lost in the mail?
A. Each shipment made using our shipping system integrated with Canada Post is insured against loss for up to $100 provided that you complete a unique shipping label for each parcel. You may purchase additional coverage for your shipment at your expense if you wish. Please note that parcels are only covered once scanned by Canada Post. Parcels deposited in standard Canada Post mailboxes may not be covered. In the event of loss you must contact Canada Post to file a claim.
Q. Can I track my shipment?
A. Yes! Each shipment made using our system can be tracked provided that you use a unique shipping label for each parcel. If you make note of the tracking number printed on your shipping label you can see where it is once you’ve sent it by visiting CanadaPost.ca
Q. If I change my mind, can you send my device back to me?
A. Unfortunately we cannot return devices. You accept our Terms of Purchase and prices when you send your device(s) to us.
Q. How can I get in touch with someone at CellCycle.ca?
A. Please visit our Contact Us page to email us.
